If you are looking for a different form of team building that all your staff will enjoy, the Bedrace is for you. Not only is it a way to have fun as a company, but you will be giving back to the community.
Each team consists of 5 members, one of which is the patient, whilst the other 4 push the patient on a hospital bed around the race track. Sounds easy, but when you have to overcome the obstacles that are strategically placed around the track it becomes a great deal more challenging and fun.
Without structually changing it, the bed can be 'dressed up' to suit your company/team name or theme, bearing in mind that there is a winner for the 'best dressed' bed. At the end of the day, the bed will be stripped of the accessories and distributed to needy hospices, homes ect.
All profits raised will be distributed by Midrand Round Table within the local community to needy causes.
Majority of the beds are donated to JAFTA (Johannesburg Association for the Aged), but some of the beds are donated to causes like Nkone Maruping Primary School's sick room.

As for the money that has been raised over the years; this has been distributed to many different needy causes over the years, and listed here are some of the more recent recipients
- SAPS:
a vehicle was purchased and loaned to the SAPS for the specific use of responding to instances of child abuse. (It has been loaned rather than donated so that we can specify for what the vehicle is used)
- Yenzani:
A safe house for abused children.
- White Christmas:
A Round Table initiative to provide a Christmas Day for children in a poor community.
- Nokuphila School:
- A school for underprivelaged Tembisa children.
